Students may use this combined application to apply for the following three scholarships.

  • The Benscoter Lyle Galloway Scholarships are funded through generous endowment gifts to the Foundation, and are awarded every year to support the post-secondary educational goals of students graduating from Kendrick High School. The endowment was established by Richard and Vicky Benscoter in the belief that quality of life and ability to achieve life goals are rooted in education. Four generations of the Benscoter family were born and raised and worked their farms on American Ridge, so their own roots are deep in the community, and they are committed to ensuring its future. The scholarship fund also honors the memory of family members William and Dorothy Lyle, who likewise believed in and supported the Kendrick Juliaetta and 7 Ridges community. In 2025 Patti and Larry Galloway, whose own pioneer farming roots on Big Bear Ridge are deep, gave additional monies from their estate to further endow the scholarship. Patti worked in the medical field for many years and Larry was an electrician. All graduating seniors and alumni from KHS qualify for this scholarship.
  • The Lesley Gold-Kopp Scholarship was initiated in the year 2020. Lesley Gold-Kopp (KHS class of 1968) was the daughter of Richard and Vicky Benscoter. This scholarship was started by Lesley’s  classmates at KHS as a memorial and remembrance for her and her career as a nurse. This scholarship will be awarded on an annual basis to KHS graduates entering the nursing, medical or dental field.
  • The Parks Family Scholarship was started many years ago by Luther Parks, a long time Kendrick Joint School District Board Member. While in years past, the school district has awarded this scholarship, in recent years the KJ7 Education Foundation has the privilege of awarding it on behalf of the Parks Family. This scholarship award is granted to those who are seeking to enter fields relating to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The Parks Family, who have continued the scholarship with annual contributions, feel these educational pursuits are of the utmost importance, especially in years to come.
